The big agnes q core slx insulated pad is an extremely light and comfortable pad to sleep on in any condition. When i got into backpacking i thought it would be worthwhile to get a thick inflatable pad that would be puncture resistant and very comfortable. It isn t our favorite but it is much more comfortable than many self inflating pads. Because it isn t insulated we don t recommend this pad if you expect to encounter snow or cold weather.

The big agnes pad also takes four or five times as long to deflate since the air must exit the pad through the same tiny mouth piece. This exped mat has a larger diameter deflation valve that makes fast work of packing up the pad. I was able to sleep with a t shirt and boxers without any problems whatsoever.
